How it works

It measures your time in the air.

Nothing more, nothing less. Your phone films the jump in slow motion; from the flight time, simple physics gives your jump height.

1

Film your jump

Record in slow motion — the more frames per second, the more accurate.

2

Mark take-off & landing

Pick the frame you leave the ground and the frame you land. That is your flight time t.

3

Get your height

VeJump turns the flight time into your jump height — the same method validated against force plates.

The whole science: Jump height = (9.81 × t²) / 8

where t is your time in the air (the flight time)

Validated in studies: this video flight-time method correlates near-perfectly (r ≈ 0.99) with laboratory force plates.

Why measure

You can’t improve what you don’t measure.

Whatever your goal — dunk, spike higher, land your jump serve, or simply beat last month — progress is invisible without a number. Measuring turns “I think I’m getting better” into proof, keeps you honest, and shows what is actually working in your training.
